We are a collection of community members, thinkers, and friends committed to creating a future absent of poverty for every youth and family we come in contact with.
Darius | CHief engagement Officer
After my father was gunned down, I committed my life to ridding my community of the constant threats of violence I feared growing up. I want to provide opportunities to young people so they never have to go through what I did at such a young age. I believe that if invested in properly and provided the right guidance, every person in underserved communities has the potential to be something special.
TROYE | CHief Operations OFficer
This work is very personal to me because there was a time when I was growing up in a forgotten community. It was right around my 12th birthday when my mom’s chronic illness left her seemingly bedridden. Despite the odds, I made my way out of my community and into Georgetown University where I actualized my passion for helping others, running 3 different juvenile mentorship programs.
DANny | CHief Strategy OFFICER
My role focuses on engaging with government agencies, foundations, and community focused collaboratives to garner resources and support that in turn offer our youth and families opportunities for success. As the product of two 15-year-old parents, my passion stems from my pride in being a statistical anomaly. My dedication to this work comes from my sense of inherent responsibility to uplift families that are in the same position mine was once in.
CHASE | OPERATIONS MANAGER
Behind all GOOD men is an even better woman. I’ve been with the guys since the beginning when GOODProjects transitioned from just an idea on a whiteboard to a full blown summer program in Southeast, Washington DC. We’ve come a long way since then, but the grassroots mentality of our work remains the same. I’ve helped guide the organization’s vision, implement systems and monitor compliance within the organization.
COREY | DATA MANAGER & PEER MENTOR
MAMA PASHA | BOOKKEEPER & Family engagEment SPECIALIST
If anyone understands, I know how important second, third and even fourth chances are to building a foundation for a family to succeed. I firmly believe there are no such things as “lost causes” and everyone can be re-directed to the path of success because I too was once a person in need of guidance.
DESTINY | INTERN
JAVON | TRANSFORMATIVE MENTOR
MS. DUNBAR | FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Engaging with the youth in our community is my specialty. I push them to constantly work towards creating the change they want to see in themselves. I believe everyone has a purpose in this world. I know, regardless of the circumstances we face in life, we still have a purpose and our lives matters.
IBRAHIM | TRANSFORMATIVE MENTOR
As a native of Southeast, Washington D.C. and having grown up in a neighborhood crippled by the city's crack epidemic of the 1990s, I use the reflections of my life experiences to do God's work. I am committed to helping residents build stronger family structures, provide paths to better education and create safer communities. I truly believe we all have an obligation to our community and bad things often happen when GOOD people do nothing.
RISS | FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
I first found my voice through poetry and spoken word. I quickly realized the importance of maintaining a sense of collectivism as I built relationships around the world and inspired others with my writing and performances. I was always inspired by the genuine community workers who helped me become my best self.
ADISA | SUPERVISOR
As the Clean Team supervisor, I work in assisting businesses gain more traction on the Georgia Avenue corridor. By maintaining and beautifying the streets and lots, my crew is able to bring more business to the very neighborhood I grew up in. I believe that entrepreneurship is an agent for change in our communities and that the skills learned as an entrepreneur translate into many different jobs and situations in life.
DAQUAN | CREW MEMBER
As a young man growing up in Washington D.C. you have 2 choices and the choice is hard when your situation is hard. Without support and resources it is easy to fall victim to what the neighborhoods have to offer. This is why I believe in the GOODProjects mission. I'm a strong believer that you receive what you give. As a individual who was once part of a GOODProjects program, I now dedicate myself to giving back. The most satisfying thing about my position is to see the cleanliness of the streets and the smile on the business owners faces once we are finished.
