KEENA Blackmon

Dr. Keena Blackmon has over ten years’ experience in communications, public relations, media relations and image repair management. In her most recent position, Blackmon is the Director of Strategic Communication and the Public Information Officer (PIO) for the DC Department of Corrections where she acts as the agency’s spokesperson and media liaison.

Before DOC, Blackmon served as Communications Manager for the National Children’s Center, a local nonprofit that served as is one of the region’s largest non-governmental providers of services for the developmentally disabled, offering an array of services to infants, children and adults in the Washington metropolitan area. In this role, she was instrumental in the internal and external communications, along with marketing, public relations and tactical plans for the organization.
