Youth Programming

GOODProjects is dedicated to providing high-impact tutoring and personalized learning experiences to students in the GOODZone through our flagship initiative, The GOODLearningHub (GLH). Serving a daily average of over 50 students, aged 6-14, GLH offers year-round out-of-school-time programming aimed at bolstering academic performance and nurturing a passion for learning by way of technology and individualized community support workers to support our students and their families.

During the school year, our free after-school care program operates from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, providing students with a wide range of enriching activities, including:

  • STEM enrichment
  • Snacks and supper
  • High-impact tutoring
  • Educational field trips
  • Technology literacy workshops
  • Digital learning using the IXL curriculum platform
  • Mentorship from individuals who resonate with our youth
  • Extracurricular activities such as art, music, and sports

Ready for Success

Our focus on academic excellence is underscored by our commitment to providing high-impact tutoring, complemented by mentorship. Specifically for middle schoolers, we leverage the IXL platform to enhance learning outcomes, tailoring personalized lessons to each student’s academic needs. Currently, we cater to 20 middle school students daily, alongside 30 elementary school students, ensuring a robust learning environment for all ages.

In the summer, GLH transforms into an 8-week summer camp program, running from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This program continues all of our after-school practices and adds more interactive activities, expanding the opportunities for students to engage, learn, and grow.

We utilize Chromebooks to implement the IXL platform, which is integral to fostering digital literacy among our students. Through daily use of this adaptive learning tool, students not only advance academically but also develop critical skills in navigating technology. By having regular access to Chromebooks, they enhance their digital competence, ensuring they are equipped for the future. Expanding our resources will allow us to provide a more robust, individualized learning experience, bridging the digital divide for students in underserved communities.
